Square boat people
circa 3100 BCE to 2950 BCE

The Mesopotamian intruders (of the Uruk I period, in egyptology dubbed "foreign elité") who dragged their ships through the Wadis Hammamat and Abbad to the Nile.
There are numerous rock carvings depicting the ships of the square boat people to be found in those wadis.

The famous Gebel el-Arak Knife handle (Louvre) shows the actual battle of the intruders in their high-prowed ships against the indigenous people in their crescent-shaped ships typical for the inhabitants of the Nile valley.
