Washmuaria shatepnaria Riamashesha maiamana

The last great native ruler of the Black Land, in whose long reign Egypt again reached its former territorial extent and military strength.

Today, the most numerous archeological finds of Egypt come from the countless palaces of Ramesses, temples, statues, and other buildings he had had erected during his long reign.

Ramesses' commonly known nick-name was Sysa, or Shysha, from which the biblical reference Shishak derived, but in the works of such authors as Herodotus, Diodorus, and Strabo was also used to assemble the figure of a legendary king Sesoosis (lat: Sesostris).

Note: Although Hollywood has made many films about it, Ramesses 2 is in no way connecetd to the history of Moses the Hebrew.
