Khaneferre Sobekhotep 4 (Khenephres, Khenophres)
the perfection of Ra shines in the horizon / Sobek is content
ruled 1530 BCE to 1508 BCE
Kha·nefer·re Sobek·hotep

During this king's rule Egypt was once more united and even extended.
Khaneferre's line first ruled from Itj-Tawy, but through Khaneferre's marriage to princess Meryt, his rule was extended to the Delta.
When the Kushites invaded Upper Egypt and captured even Mennefer, it was Prince Moses who pushed them back again and extended Egyptian rule of the Nile valley to Kerma.
Thus Khaneferre became king of all Egypt. In the works of Artapanus (paraphrased by Christian historian Eusebius) he appears as Khenephrês wo married Merris, daughter of Palmanothês.
