Dagmawi Piori 2 (Perehu?)
ruled 1526 BCE to 1511 BCE (ruled 1542 BCE to 1527 BCE)

Last of the kings in the line of Habassi.

In the 18th year of Khaneferre's rule in Egypt, the Kushites under Piori 2 dared to conduct a major assault on Egypt. The military success was swift and they came even as far as Mennefer and Iunu. But then they were driven back by the Egyptian king's foster son, Moses, who defeated the Kushites at Kerma, and captured the king Piori and forced him to give his daughter Tjarbit (Tharbis) into marriage with him.
After this utter defeat of the last of the kings in the line of Habassi the Kushite royal residence was removed from Kerma to Napata.

There have been many other persons throughout the history of northeast Africa whose names were rendered later as Perehu. E.g. one Perehu (apparently from Punt) is mentioned in texts from the time of Hatshepsut.
